The Y5s have turned into illustrators!

During our English lesson, we spent time thinking about the role of illustrations in books and whether illustrations or written descriptions were better at depicting characters. Opinion was very divided with some liking the detail of illustrations and others preferring to build their own picture of characters in their heads. 

We watched Chris Riddell, the author and illustrator of our class text, 'Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse', draw one of the main characters and we followed along. Here are some of our illustrations of Ishmael the ghost mouse....
