Year 5/6

In Key Stage 2, children are taught to use running, jumping, throwing and catching through a variety of activities and to play competitive games, applying basic principles suitable for attacking and defending. They are also encouraged to develop flexibility, strength, technique, control and balance and to perform dances using a range of movement patterns. Children take part in outdoor and adventurous activity challenges both individually and within a team and are taught to compare their performances with previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best.
